Beck is getting old so I am not expecting many or any pups but if we do get any, they will be good ones

Beck is a real work dog full of energy & has one of the best friendly natures you could ever wish for.

This is a line breeding mating as Ned is by Roy IV & Roy being a half brother to Beck which should concentrate the great work ethic that both dogs have.

Ned V is a very good son of our National Champion dog Karana Roy IV who Won the National Kelpie Championship on the 7th March 2023.Ned has the same work style as Roy with a massive big cast in the paddock & natural caution with medium amount of eye with good feel on his sheep in the open area having won a novice 3 sheep trial & a novice yard trial demonstrating his all-round ability.Ned is a very good yard & shed dog with free backing & bark on command

Ned V is a great work dog & there is no task that he cannot do he is a great farm dog as well as a very talented trial dog in both the field & the yards. He is a big framed athletic type of black & tan dog.

This is the 3rd mating of these 2 we previously have been joining Beck to Roy & that mating has been producing outstanding pups with all round ability. Roy has a prostate problem at the moment for which he is under treatment for.

I am very confident that the mating with Karana Ned V will have the same excellent results.

Cub is a young bitch on her 3rd litter she is a half outcross for our stud being out of one of our very good brood bitches & by Neal Taylors Champion dog Brokenriver Couger, Cub is a very keen worker that backs & barks in the tight spots & covers & balances well out in the open.

Ned V is an outstanding dog, A son of our National Champion dog Karana Roy IV. Ned can do any task that he is put to he will bark on command & backs freely & has no fear & for a dog that is so good in the yard he has an amazing cast he has cast up to 2 klm here & will muster timbered hills by searching for sheep & at times he is in the timber searching up to half an hour before he comes out with his sheep. He has amazing footwork for such a big dog he has won a Novice 3 sheep trial & a Novice yard trial at the Australian Yard Dog Championships held in W A & had been in a good number of Novice Yard Trial Finals before that. Ned is an outstanding type Black & Tan Dog. He has a very friendly nature.

This is a repeat mating with very good results previously.

Dam: Karana Pixie is a very talented young bitch & has inherited the work ethics of her sire Dean Inchers Champion yard dog Raffa. Pixie’s Dam was Karana Alice who was by Boanong Buster another National Champion Dog

Sire: Celtic Roy is a quality all round young dog owned by Richard Davies of Victoria & his breeding contains a lot of the old champion bloodlines of the early Karana dogs & we want to incorporate that into Pixies bloodlines, I am looking forward to continuing with the combination of the old bloodlines & the current bloodlines which all contain a certain amount of the old bloodlines & this will strengthen those bloodlines without being to close.

These pups will be true all round ability pups.

Unfortunately, all of this litter are fully booked up & the next litter from Pixie is also all booked out.

WE SOLD KARANA ROY IV AS A PUP AGED 8 WEEKS TO VIRGINIA CHILCOTT OF TASMANIA & VIRGINIA TRAINED & WORKED ROY FOR THE NEXT 2 1/2 YEARS DOING A GREAT JOB OF HIS TRAINING AS WELL AS DEVELOPING ROYS BEAUTIFUL FRIENDLY NATURE.                                                                                              VIRGINIA THEN DECIDED TO PUT ROY ON THE MARKET & MADE HIM AVAILABLE FOR US TO PURCHASE ROY BACK.

I HAVE HAD MY EYE ON ROY FOR QUITE A WHILE NOW, I FIRST SAW HIM WHEN HE WAS 12 MONTHS OLD & REALLY LIKED WHAT I SAW, THE NEXT TIME I SAW ROY WAS WHEN HE WAS 2 YEARS OLD & MY OPINION WAS STILL THE SAME I BELIEVED HE HAD A TON OF NATURAL ABILITY WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT WHEN YOU ARE CONSIDERING BREEDING FROM A DOG. 9/8/2020 Roy is now 5 1/2 & last weekend he proved to me that my first opinion of him when I saw him at age 12 months was the correct one. Roy has been going along performing well in all sorts of trials & proving to be an outstanding farm dog with all round ability & a great sheep dog brain & he finally hit the big time in trials by winning the New South Wales Utility Championship at Nyngan on the 2nd of August 2020. Scoring 78+94 =172

Roy is a son of Karrawarra Penny who is an outstanding bitch & Roy being by Karana Abba II who was a 2 times National Kelpie Champion & many times State Champion Roy has inherited the ability of both his Sire & Dam.

Karrawarra Penny is by our great dog Karana Digger II who is the only dog ever to win the National Kelpie Utility Championship 3 times.

Roy is a very big framed dog with a big sire type head & a beautiful friendly nature.

He has a very wide deep cast with a natural cautious pick up. After only having Roy for 2 months Roy Won the Novice 3 sheep trial at Wentworth & placed 5th in the Open 3 sheep. Since then after having Roy for 2 1/2 months we competed in the Open Yard Dog Trial at Forbes & Won the Open Yard with Roy scoring 90+90.We still have a lot of things that we both need to get used to with one another to achieve great results but with all of his natural ability I am sure it will happen.We need some fine tuning for trialing.He is now an Open Yard Dog  an Improver 3 sheep dog & an Open Utility dog. Roy also won a goat trial in 2019 where we had to work 3 old feral billy goats on the same course as a 3 sheep trial.

22/6/2018 Roy Won the Novice section of the NSW Utility Championship at Nyngan with scores of 71 + 92 & also came 5th in the Open on the same day scoring 71+62 .Since then on the 2nd of August 2020 Roy won the New South Wales Utility Championship at Nyngan scoring 78+94 =172 confirming my original opinion of his ability.

2nd February 2019 Roy came 2nd in the Open Yard Dog Trial at Nimitabel Scoring 92 + 91 =183

5th May 2019 Roy came second in the Open Yard Dog Championship at Wagga scoring 90+90=180

2nd August Roy won the New South Wales Utility Championship at Nyngan scoring 76 + 94 = 170

Roy won the Novice section of this same trial 2 years ago.

I have been a bit slack with Roys updates .We had a period where we lost our web site & it took a fair while to get it up & running.Roy has been performing very well since the last post .

March 2023 Roy IV Won the National Kelpie Utility Championship at Mansfield in Victoria. That gave us our 10th Win in the National Kelpie Utility Championship very proud of that achievement.
